Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
This update on his health arrives after the global fight fans shared its support for the star in the wake of the devastating accident.
