Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm said: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was made after an review of claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.

The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
