Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician now faces charges for performing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Charges
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
