Larry Summers Steps Down from OpenAI Board
One-time economic leader Larry Summers is exiting the directorate at OpenAI, just days after a series of electronic messages between him and late convicted sex offender the disgraced billionaire became public.
The economist commented in a release that he was "grateful for the chance to have participated, enthusiastic about the promise of the company, and eagerly await observing their advancement".
The prominent academic, who once presided over the prestigious university, declared on recently that he would be withdrawing from public roles due to his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

The recently released communications revealed that the official corresponded with Epstein until the 24 hours preceding his 2019 apprehension for alleged trafficking of young people.
In another announcement, the technology organization stated it respected Summers' determination to resign.

Congressional Action
This announcement comes after both chambers of the legislative branch voted on Tuesday to endorse a bill that would compel the US justice department to release its records on Epstein.
