The East African nation Receives Cultural Items After a Long Stay in German Hands
Exactly 12 cultural objects have been ceremoniously given back to the Ethiopian nation after being kept by a household from Germany for in excess of ten decades.
The items, originally gathered in the early twentieth century by the German diplomat to the Ethiopian empire a German envoy and his wife his partner, were delivered on this past Wednesday to the Institute of Ethiopian Studies at the university in Addis Ababa.
The collection included crowns, armor and artistic works, all viewed as historically important in Ethiopia.
"The artefacts still serve as a mark of the lasting and positive relationship between Germany and Ethiopia," said the German diplomat, Germany's representative to the East African country.

The minister continued that the pieces would shortly be available to the general audience for study and academic study, terming the move a landmark in protecting Ethiopia's cultural heritage.
"Efforts will continue to return historical items that are located in the possession of collectors and entities around the globe," she affirmed.
In the era of colonialism in the African continent, thousands of traditional artefacts were plundered.
The request by African countries for the repatriation of looted items has been answered with certain progress in lately - although some objects are only on short-term display.
In two years ago, Germany was the first nation to repatriate some of the famous Benin artifacts to the West African nation in an attempt to confront its "dark legacy."
